4500 Parkway Ave. in McHenry IL

The McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) was dispatched on 1/4/2019 at 9:59 pm to 4500 Parkway Ave. in McHenry IL for a structure fire. Emergency response units arrived on the scene within 4 minutes and found a small ranch house with flames coming out of one window. Crews attacked the fire and had it under control within 5 minutes. Seven pieces of MTFPD apparatus responded to the scene consisting of 30 firefighters. In addition, Nunda Fire provided station coverage during the fire. The McHenry Police Department also responded to the scene. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. Fire damage was contained to the bedroom of origin. The house and contents sustained smoke damage. The house was un-inhabitable due to the smoke and fire damage. The damage is estimated at $25,000. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental in nature and caused by an electrical issue in the bedroom.
